Lakehead is swept by the Windsor Lancers
The Thunderwolves did not come out of the gate in the first period running and the Lancers took advantage. Connor MacPherson would strike twice quickly to give the Lancers an early 2-0 lead which they would add to near the end of the period when Aaron Shaw would beat freshmen goaltender Kolton Bourret to give the Lancers a 3-0 lead after 1.
The second period would see the Lancers extend the lead when Colton Smith would knock the puck in off of Bourret from the side of the net for a 4-0 lead. The Wolves would respond on the powerplay when freshmen Jayden Weins would find the twine with a beautiful wrist shot that beat Noah Nelson to cut the lead to 4-1 after 2.
The third period would see Windsor get goals from Owen Jones and Sal Sova to give the Lancers a 6-1 win and a series sweep over the Thunderwolves.
The Wolves are back in action next Friday and Saturday as they welcome the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks to the Fort William Gardens.
