It was not the return to the ice the Thunderwolves were looking for as they fall 6-2 to the Brock Badgers in St. Catherines, Ontario.

Lakehead came out of the gate showing that they were ready to go and getting on the board first on a wierd goal by Colin Van Den Hurk when he put a shot from the slot off of the cross bar and the rebound came out and bounced off of himself and passed Brock netminder Mario Peccia to put the Wolves up 1-0.

But :30 seconds later Brock would answer back as Jared Marino would beat Lakehead goalie Brock Aiken to tie the game at one.

Just past the midway point of the period Kevin Stiles and Joe Mack both had great scoring chances but were stopped by Peccia and the post respectfully.

Brock would go up 2-1 heading into the break with a late goal by Jacob Roach burying a rebound off of a point shot by Brock Defenceman Cole Thiessen.

In the second period Brock Aiken would take a Jared Marino shot off of the mask but would be ok. Shortly after this, the Badgers recieved a penalty shot after forward Frank Pucci was interfered with on a breakway. Brock Aiken would come up with a big save on the ensuing penalty shot.

Stiles had the best scoring opportunity for the Wolves in the period when he split the Badger defense but was stopped by Peccia.

In the third period Joe Mack would score a shorthanded goal when Lakehead was on a 5 on 3 penalty kill. Brock would anser right back though when Cole Thiessen would beat Aiken on the power play to make in 3-2

The Badgers would round out the scoring by netting 3 goals in a span of 63 seconds to go up 6-2.

Lakehead moves on to Toronto for a pair of games Friday and Saturday nights at 7:15pm both nights which you can watch on OUA.TV.
