Lakehead University and the Thunderwolves hockey program are pleased to announce the roster for the 2012-13 season. The Wolves will carry 26 players including 15 forwards, 9 defencemen, and 2 goalies.

The team will consist of 2 fifth-year seniors, 5 seniors, 4 juniors, 11 sophomores, and 4 freshmen, giving the Wolves a nice blend of youth and experience.

The 15 forwards are fifth-year senior Adam Sergerie; seniors Andrew Wilkins, Victor Anilane, Brennan Menard, and Matt Caria; juniors Ryan Magill and Trevor Gamache; sophomores Jason Grecica, Mike Hammond, Keith Grondin, Thomas Frazee, and Jake Carrick; and freshmen Luke Judson, Carson Dubchak, and Michael MacDonald.

The 9 defencemen will consist of fifth-year senior Kalvin Sagert; juniors Mike Quesnele and James DeLory; sophomores Luke Maw, Riley McIntosh, Mitch Fillman, Chris de la Lande, and Danick Malouin; and freshman Jay Gilbert.

The 2 goalies are senior Alex Dupuis and sophomore Jeff Bosch.

Thunderwolves Head Coach Joel Scherban likes the make-up of this years squad. "The team features a great blend of size, skill, and grit" he said.

Adam Sergerie was named the team Captain, and is eager to accept the responsibility that comes with it. Being named Captain is an honor and a privilege, especially because I know how much leadership there is in our dressing room, Sergerie said. And with the history of our previous Captains, I feel like I have big shoes to fill, but Im looking forward to carrying on that great tradition.

Coach Scherban is confident in Sergeries ability to lead the team. "Im pleased to name Adam the team Captain, Scherban said. Adam has a tireless work ethic both on and off the ice and his community involvement is second to none. He has earned the respect of both his teammates and his coaches and will continue to be a tremendous leader and role model."

The three assistant captains are Kalvin Sagert, Andrew Wilkins, and Trevor Gamache.

"Kalvin, Andrew, and Trevor have all demonstrated the desire to work and compete to the best of their abilities on a daily basis, Scherban added. Their work ethic will continue to rub off on the rest of the team as they lead them on the chase for an OUA Championship."
