Lakehead holds on to beat the Blues
Lakehead’s Olivier Pouliot would get the Wolves on the board 5:34 into the 1st period when he sticked handled around the Blues Rayce Ramsay to the delight of 3324 in attendance.
The Blues would answer back a little over 4 minutes later when Thomas Gangl would rip a shot high on Christian Cicigoi to tie the game up at 1-.1 The Blues would strike again 1:24 later when Owen Luik on the powerplay would find the back of the net to give them the 2-1 lead.
Lakehead would tie the game up at 2-2 on the powerplay when Dalton MacGillivray would find the twine behind Rayce Ramsay.
The second period would both teams exchange scoring chances but it would be Nicholas DeGrazia who would redirect a Liam Whittaker shot topself to give the Wolves the 3-2 leadjust over midway through the period.
Dylan Wightman would put a wrist shot on net and it would handcuff Christian Cicigoi and fall in behind to tie the game up at 3-3 just over halfway through the period.
The Thunderwolves would answer back with 3 unaswered goals by Zane Rowan, Dalton MacGillivray into an empty net and Olivier Pouliot on the powerplay to seal the 6-3 Lakehead win and put them in 1st place in the OUA West.
