Lakehead hosting long time Rival Western Mustangs

Lakehead to host long time rival the University of Western Ontario Mustangs.

The Wolves are returning home after a weekend split in Toronto against the Varsity Blues and looking forward to some home cooking at the Fort William Gardens.

The Mustangs hold the historical edge on the Wolves 40-23-2 and also outscoring the Wolves 241-164 in those games.

Last season though the Thunderwolves swept the season series 3-0, winning 2 games on the road and the 3rd game at home. Lakehead out scored the Mustangs 13-8 in the series.

Western has yet to win a game this season and are 0-7 so far. The Mustangs are coming off of weekend losses to Ottawa and Carleton by scores of 5-2 and 5-2.

On Saturday night the Thunderwolves will be honouring the Thunder Bay Twins. The Twins won 5 championships while they were in Thunder Bay. There will be booths in the lobby setup with displays and the Thunderwolves will be sporting Thunder Bay Twins themed jerseys for the game. Also the one and only Darrell Clarke the Twins long time equipment manager will be on hand with all 5 of the teams championship rings. He is the only personnel or player from the Twins to be on the team for all 5 of the teams championships.
