Lakehead hosting UQTR and McGill this weekend

Lakehead is looking to rebound from last Saturday's loss to Concordia when they host the first place UQTR Patriotes on Friday and McGill Red Birds on Saturday.

The last time the Thunderwolves played UQTR was back in the 2017-18 season at the Gardens. UQTR took both contests with scores of 3-1 and 4-1.

Historically the Wolves are 1-8-1 in the regular season vs UQTR. The Patriotes also holds the advantage in scoring with a 55-30 count.

UQTR is led by 4th year senior Simon LaFrance who has a stat line of 15G and 9A for 24PTS in 14GP.

In net the Patriotes are led by 3rd year Junior Alexis Gravel. He is sporting a 6-4 record with a 2.34 GAA and a .927 Save Percentage.

The Wolves will play McGill on Saturday which is also the Wolves annual Teddy Bear Toss game. All bears collected will be donated to underprivileged children for Christmas.

The last time these two teams met was in the 2018-2019 season in McGill. The teams split the series with the Red Birds who took the first 8-1 and Lakehead the second with a 7-5 win.

Historically Lakehead is 2-6-1 against the Red Birds in the regular season and they hold the scoring lead between them 43-24 in the 9 meetings.

McGill is led by Sophomore William Pouleau with a stat line of 5G and 13A 18PTS in 12GP.

In net the Red Birds are lead by Alexis Shank with a 6-2 record and a 3.14 GAA and a .885 Save Percentage.
