Lakehead hosting Windsor in push for the Playoffs

Lakehead will host longtime rival Windsor Lancers this weekend in a crucial two game series.

Lakehead is looking to get as many crucial points as they can this weekend to better position themselves in the push for a coveted playoff spot.

The Wolves are coming off of a two game road trip in Ottawa where the picked up an important 3 out of 4 points to get back in playoff contention.

The Wolves currently sit in 6th place with 24 pts with the Laurier Goldenhawks in 7th also with 24 pts. Lakehead holds the tiebreaker with more ROW's (Regulation vs Overtime wins) 10 to Laurier's 9. Nipissing sits just ahead in 5th with 25 pts.

Windsor is coming in having gone 5-0-2 in their last seven games.

Lakehead holds the all time lead in head to head meetings with a 41-20-3 record. Lakead also holds the lead in scoring all time vs Windsor 248-184.

The last time these to clubs met was in the OUA West Finals last season with Windsor coming out on top in the series winning 2 out of 3 games to be crowned the OUA West Champions.

Windsor is led in scoring by forward Jake Durham with 12G and 14A for 26 PTS.

In net Nathan Torchia sports a 12-10-0 record with a 2.94 GAA and a .914 save percentage.

Game time for both nights this weekend at the Fort William Gardens is 7pm.
