The Lakehead Thunderwolves will kick off the second half of the OUA season by hosting the Carleton Ravens at the Fort William Gardens this Friday and Saturday at 7:00 PM.

Last Time Out

The Wolves have won their last two games after sweeping the defending Queens Cup champion Guelph Gryphons in the Save on Energy Christmas Challenge on December 29-30. Lakehead won the first game 4-2, and then came from behind to topple the Gryphons 6-4 in the rematch.

Scoring Touch

After a dry spell earlier this year, the Wolves are finding the back of the net more frequently now as evidenced by their 10 goals in the two games with Carleton. Cody Alcock scored twice in the first contest including the game winner, and Jake Wright recorded a natural hat-trick the following evening.

Series History

The Thunderwolves record is 3-6-0 all-time versus the Ravens. Lakehead played a pair of games at Carleton last season, dropping them both. After being edged 3-2 in overtime in the Friday contest, the Wolves fell 6-1 to the Ravens on the Saturday.

About the Ravens

Located in Ottawa, Carleton has put together one of the strongest teams in the East Division. After posting a 12-4-0 record during the first half of the OUA season, the Ravens are currently ranked #8 in the country.

The Ravens have a potent offence and a stingy defence, with three players among the top 15 OUA scorers in forwards Brett Welychka, Michael McNamee and Ryan Van Stralen. Defenceman Jeremie Fraser leads the Carleton blue-liners, while goaltenders Patrick Killeen and Francis Dupuis are both ranked in the top five for the leagues lowest goals-against averages after splitting time in net this year.
