Wolves land OHL Veteran

Richard Whittaker, younger brother of current Thunderwolves defensemen Liam Whittaker commits to Lakehead. Whittaker had a career season in 19/20 with Mississauga recording 44 points in 57 games.

Richard is excited to play in Thunder Bay with familiar faces after red shirting last year due to U Sport transfer rules “I am excited for next year with a good group of returning players. I’m excited to play in front of the awesome crowds as well as playing alongside my brother. For the upcoming season, I want to be a leader for this team to help reach the goals set out for us ahead of the year.”

Head Coach Andrew Wilkins adds “Richards commitment allows us to solidify our forward group, especially in the middle of the ice. He is a big strong centre who can play in all situations. His hockey sense and production at the major junior level provides our staff with great optimism that he can step in and be a valuable piece to our team”

Welcome to the Thunderwolves Richard ????
