Lakehead lets game slip away against Laurier

The Thunderwolves let a 2 goal lead slip away and lose to the Laurier Golden Hawks 4-2.

The Wolves and Golden Hawks put on an exciting first period with both teams garnering scoring chances but could not convert as Lakehead's Max Wright and Laurier's Christian Propp were up to the task and kept the game scoreless after one period of play.

The second would see the Wolves get on the board when Colin Van Den Hurk would take a pass from Griffen Fox and wired it 5 hole on Propp to the delight of the 2419 fans.

Later in the period Ed McNeill would take a feed from Troy Williams and wrist it top shelf on the glove side of Propp to up the Wolve's lead to 2-0 after 2 periods.

In the third period Laurier would come to life when Sam Rhodes fired a shot from in close and it would end up past Max Wright and in the net to get Golden Hawk's on the board.

Shortly after that Thomas Lenart would streak down the left wing and wrist a shot top shelf on Max Wright to tie the game up at 2.

Then shortly after that Patrick Brown would finish a pass from Declan Graham off to put the Golden Hawks in front for the first time in the game.

Laurier's Patrick Brown would round out the scoring with an empty netter to seal the game for the Golden Hawks 4-2.
