The Lakehead Thunderwolves moved up two spots from 9th to 7th in the latest CIS Hockey Top 10 poll released today. This comes on the heels of two impressive wins over the Regina Cougars in a non-conference series last weekend.

Lakehead leap-frogged the Saskatchewan Huskies and Manitoba Bisons of the Canada West Conference, both of which were idle last weekend. After the Wolves swept a Regina team that had already beaten Saskatchewan twice and Manitoba once this season, the voters were impressed enough to move the Wolves in front of both the Huskies and Bisons.

Saskatchewan dropped to 8th and Manitoba is now 9th in the rankings. This sets up a match-up of two top-ten teams when Manitoba comes to Thunder Bay to battle the Wolves in the RBC Varsity Cup Challenge on December 29th and 30th.
