Thunderwolves Hockey & SIJHL Announce Partnership for Inaugural Tbaytel All-Star Showcase at the Gardens

Thunder Bay, ON — Thunderwolves Hockey is proud to announce a new partnership with the
Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL) to present a unique All-Star Showcase
event right here in Thunder Bay at the Fort William Gardens. The two-game exhibition series will
take place Friday, January 2nd, and Saturday, January 3rd, with both games scheduled for a
7:00 PM puck drop.

This special showcase will open the new year with an exciting opportunity for hockey fans in our
region. For the first time, the top Junior A talent from across the SIJHL will compete against the
Lakehead University Thunderwolves, providing fans with a rare chance to watch elite junior
players test their skills against a premier U Sports program.

“We’re excited to bring this event to Thunder Bay,” said Thunderwolves Hockey Operations
Manager Kody Anton. “For SIJHL players, this is a great test to see where they stand against U
Sports athletes. Many of these young men have goals of advancing to the collegiate level, and
measuring themselves against a top university program is an invaluable step in that process. It’s
an outstanding opportunity for both the players and our fans.”

The SIJHL shares the same enthusiasm for this groundbreaking event. Each SIJHL team will
submit a list of six players—three forwards, two defensemen, and one goaltender. League
coaching staff will then select a final roster of 18 skaters and two goaltenders to represent the
SIJHL All-Stars during the two-game series. Every team in the league will be represented by at
least two players. The full roster will be announced at the beginning of December.

"We are very excited to showcase our league and our players against one of Canada’s premiere
university hockey programs,” said the SIJHL Chairman Doug Lein. “We hope this partnership
marks the beginning of a long-standing relationship with Lakehead University and the
Thunderwolves organization.”

Sharing excitment for the partnership, Stacy Giardetti, Tbaytel's Director of Marketing and Communication, said "Tbaytel is proud to be the title sponsor for the inaugural All-Star Showcase at Fort William Gardens. The partnership with the SIJHL  and LU Thunderwolves is a great opportunity for our reigon to celebrate local talent. As a deeply rooted company Tbaytel is committed to supporting the communities we serve and we are thrilled to see that commitment come to life on the ice. We wish both teams the best and look forward to a great showcase."

This event promises to be a can’t-miss highlight of the season, bringing together the community,
two strong hockey organizations, and some of the region’s most talented athletes.
