Lakehead picks up 5-3 win over SIJHL Allstars

Lakehead Thunderwolves would pick up a 5-3 win in game one the first annual Tbaytel Holiday Showcase over the SIJHL All Stars.

 The SIJHL All Stars wasted little time getting on the board in the 1st period off of the opening face as they got into the Wolves zone and Lucas Bertolin would shoot the puck at the net and it would hit a player in front and deflect in to give them the 1-0 lead.

 The Wolves would answer back 5:07 later when Austin Peters would rip a shot from the top of the zone past Matthew Ofukany to tie the game up at . The Wolves would strike again 55 seconds later to take the lead off a shot from Marko Stojkov which would go in after Ofukany would catch an edge and go down to give the Wolves the 2-1 lead after 1.

 The second would see Matthew Ofukany stand on his head facing 16 shots and stopping them all. The SIJHLAll Stars would tie the game up when Bryant Linklater finished off a Kaden Veller pass. Lakehead would out shoot the SIJHL All Stars 16-6 in the period.

 The third period would see the Thunderwolves find the back of the net three times with Austin Peters getting his second of the game, Olivier Pouliot deflecting in a Nicholas De Grazia shot past Ofukany and Tim Porter scoring on a shot from the top of the slot. The SIJHL All Stars would get a late goal from Adrian Mendoza but it would not be enough as Lakehead would win 5-3.
