Lakehead picks up win over Carleton

Lakehead picks up a huge 2pts in 3-1 win over the Carleton Raven's.

Lakehead came out to play on Saturday night coming out and putting the pressure on Carleton out of the gate. It took until 10:36 mark of the 1st for Lakehead to break the ice when Spencer Blackwell would feed Keighan Gerrie and he would fire a wrister that Raven's netminder Mark Grametbauer had no chance on.

Max Wright would stop all 13 of the shots the Raven's launched at him in the period.

Lakehead would come out in the second very quickly adding to their lead when Dylan Massie would finish off a pass from Spencer Blackwell and fire it past the Raven's netminder at the 1:01 mark.

Lakehead would up the lead 6:30 later off the stick of Spencer Blackwell after he would blow a shot past Grametbauer to make it 3-0.

Carleton would get on the get on the board in the 3rd when Simon Kerr would strike shorthanded.

Max Wright would shut the door after that and finish the game stopping 32 of 33 shots.

With the win Lakehead currently sits in 6th place with 24PTS in their hunt for a playoff spot.

WolfPaws: With this win Coach Andrew Wilkins moved into 2nd all time in regular season wins with 60. Former Coach Pete Belliveau sits 1st with 84.

LAkehead returns to the Gardens this weekend to host longtime rival the Windsor Lancers in a two game set. Game time is 7pm Friday and Saturday.
