The Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey team is pleased to announce that forward Greg Smith of Ajax, Ontario has committed to the program.

Smith played the majority of his junior career in the OJHL with the Wellington Dukes, Aurora Tigers and Whitby Fury, although he did spend parts of two seasons in Owen Sound of the OHL.

The 6’1”, 190-pounder led the Fury in scoring last season with 58 points in 54 games while serving as the team’s captain.

Smith, who will be majoring in Kinesiology, is looking forward to this fall.  “I’m extremely excited about the opportunity that has been given to me,” he said.  I can’t wait to play in front of a passionate community and to get my education.  I’m honoured to be a part of the Lakehead Thunderwolves family.”

Wolves’ Head Coach Andrew Wilkins said, “I’m excited to see what Greg will bring to our team.  He plays with a lot of speed and skill and will be a welcome addition to our line-up.”
