Lakehead sweeps the Blues away 4-0

Lakehead swept away the Blues with a 4-0 victory Saturday night in front of 3117 fans. 

It took Lakehead less than 3 minutes into the first period to find the twine when Josh Lehto finished off beautiuful pass from James Fuchs to get the crowd into the game. Lakehead would add to the lead late in the period on the powerplay when Keighan Gerrie would rip a shot past Blues netminder Nick Surzycia for the 2-0 lead after 1.

The Thunderwolves would add to the lead in the second with goals from Zane Rowan and a powerplay goal from Riley Sharun to give the Wolves a 4-0 lead. The Blues would have a couple of great scoring chances in the period but were stymied by the crossbar and the post.

The third period would see both teams engage in some rough stuff which would see 68 minutes in penalties which would see the Wolves recieve 3 major penalties and the Blues would recieve 1. The Blues would out shoot the Wolves 35-28 for the game. The Wolves have clinched a playoff spot with the win tonight.

Lakehead hits the road for their finally road trip of the season with games against the Windsor Lancers and the Western Mustangs Friday Feb 6th at 7:30pm and Saturday Feb 7th at 7pm
