Thunder Bay, ON – October 27, 2023 Lakehead University Thunderwolves Hockey is excited to announce the upcoming Twins Throwback Night on November 4, 2023, to honor the rich history and legacy of the Thunder Bay Twins senior hockey team. This special event will take place at the Fort William Gardens as the Thunderwolves take on the Western Mustangs.
The Thunder Bay Twins, a storied franchise in the history of local hockey, left an indelible mark on the community and contributed significantly to the region's hockey heritage. The Twins were a senior hockey team that played in the Thunder Bay area from 1970 to 1991 and were known for their outstanding on-ice performances bringing home the Allan Cup in years 1975, 1984, 1985, 1988 and 1989.
Twins Throwback Night promises to be a memorable evening filled with nostalgia, celebration, and appreciation for the Twins' impact on Thunder Bay. Fans attending the game can look forward to the following highlights:
Throwback Jerseys: The Thunderwolves will be sporting special-edition jerseys inspired by the classic Twins' design. These jerseys will be available for purchase as part of a limited-time merchandise collection.
Alumni Reunion: Former Thunder Bay Twins players and staff will be in attendance, providing an opportunity for fans to reconnect with their hockey heroes and hear stories of the past.
Interactive Exhibits: The arena concourse will feature exhibits showcasing the Twins' history, including memorabilia, photos, and videos that will transport fans back in time including the Allan Cup!
In-Game Tributes: The game will feature various in-game tributes and video presentations dedicated to the Twins and their achievements.
