Lakehead sweeps York 5-2 in Nipigon to Win the Innagural Canadian Tire Cup

 The York Lions jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first period off the stick of Owen Gilhua but the Thunderwolves would answer back under three miniutes later on the powerplay when newcomer Canden Drury would finish off a passing play from Dalton MacGillivray to even the score at 1.

 In the second period Lakehead would storm out of gate when Dalton Macgillivray would beat York’s Chu to put the Wolves up 2-1. Brody Beauchemin would up the lead to 2-1 with a beautiful snipe top shelf shorthanded. Caden Drury would pick up his second of the game shortly afterward.

 York would cut into the lead when Owen Gilhau would get his second of the game making it 4-2.

 Lakehead would recieve a penalty shot late in the 2nd period which Dalton MacGillivray would convert to put the Wolves up 5-2 after 2.

 The 3rd period would see both teams get scoring opportunities but there would be no further scoring as the Thundewrwolves would win 5-2 and claim the Canadian Tire Cup.
