Laurier comes from behind to defeat Lakehead

The Laurier Golden Hawks came from behind to defeat the Thunderwolves 5-2 and sweep the season series 3-0.

The Thunderwolves came out in the first period with jump in there step and put 2 on the board in the period starting with Greg Smith redirecting a slap pass by Kyle Auger past Laurier netminder Christian Propp. Tyler Jette would get the secondary assist on the goal.

Olivier Pouliot would up the lead just past the midway point of the period when he would rip a Tyler Ho pass past Propp.

Laurier would take over midway through the second when Graydon Gottschalk would pick up a rebound and put it in the net past Max Wright.to cut the lead to 2-1.

Tyler Davis would tie the game up late in the second period wristing a shot past Wright.

The third would see Matthew Zebedee would put Laurier ahead 3-2 beating Wright with a snap shot .

The Thunderwolves thought they scored with under 2 minutes to go but there was no call by the offical but the fans erupted thinking it was in.

Sam Rhodes would round out the scoring with two shorthanded goals. The second being of the empty net variet to make the final 5-2 for the Golden Hawks.

The Thunderwolves would like to thank all the fans that bid on the game worn jerseys tonight and helped us raise $5075 in support of Our Hearts at Home Cardiovascular Campaign.
