It was a historic night for Lakehead Captain Joel Scherban as he set the Lakehead Career scoring mark but his Lakehead Thunderwolves fell 5-2 to the Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo on Friday night. Scherban notched an assist to give him 227 total points and the new Lakehead scoring record.

Lakeheads goals came from Andrew Brown and Mark Robinson while Dan Ehrman led the Hawks with two goals and singles came from Ryan Courtney, Nick Vergeer, and Mark Voakes. Laurier outshot Lakehead 38-29 in the game.

Laurier played a strong all-around game and neutralized Lakeheads speed with good forechecking. Lakeheads recent lack of scoring from its big guns continued and Laurier netminder Justin Day also played a solid game. Lakehead now has a 2-3 conference record (6-6-2 overall) while the Hawks are 3-1-1 in OUA play and 7-4-1 overall.

Saturdays game can be heard in Thunder Bay on 580 CKPR AM radio and online at www.ckpr.com with Bryan Wyatt calling all the action beginning at 7:20 pm EST at the Waterloo Recreation Complex.
