Brock goaltender Tom Lee backstopped his Brock Badgers to a 3-0 shutout win over the No. 9 Lakehead Thunderwolves mens hockey team Saturday night at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay. Lee turned aside 42 Lakehead shots to earn the win as Lakehead outshot Brock 42-24 on the night.

Brock now has a 5-1 (7-1 overall) OUA record while Lakehead goes to 4-2 (6-5 overall). It was Brock's first win over the Thunderwolves in 12 games and was also the first time a team other than Western had shutout Lakehead at the Fort William Gardens in five-plus seasons of OUA play (Western had done the trick twice as well as been awarded two forfeited games due to an ineligible Lakehead player).

Brocks goals came from Jonathan Labelle, Paul Houlder, and Ryan Stephenson with Labelle and Houlder also picking up an assist each.

Lakehead netminder Matt Iorrianni got his first OUA start and played a decent game; stopping 21 of 24 Badger shots.

Lakehead looked out of sync for most of the game but did turn it on in the second when they outshot Brock 23-5, but Lee stood tall in the Badgers goal. Lee made two incredible saves on the night; a sliding save to rob Lakehead leading scorer Tobias Whelan and a glove save to totally pickpocket Lakeheads Steve Rawski who had a wide open cage to shoot into.

Penalties were again the story but Lakehead couldnt complain as they had plenty of powerplay opportunities; going 0-17 with the man advantage. Brock got two of their goals with the man advantage; going 2-11 on the powerplay. Lakehead was assessed 12 minors and one 10-minute misconduct, while Brock received 18 minors, one 10-minute misconduct, and one game misconduct.

Lakeheads powerplay continually tried to get the shot in from the point and the Brock forwards blocked plenty; and if the puck got through, Tom Lee made the final save. The Wolves also missed four open nets by firing it over the goal.

The Three Stars, as chosen by Reuben Villagracia of the Thunder Bay Chronicle Journal, were:
1)Brock: Tom Lee
2)Brock: Jonathan Labelle
3)Lakehead: Jarryd Brend

Lakehead is on the road next week when they travel t Guelph, Ontario for two games against the Guelph Gryphons.
