Lakehead Thunderwolves Hockey and Head Coach Pete Belliveau are very happy to announce the commitment of goaltender Matt Iorianni for the 2006-07 season. The native of Thunder Bay, Ontario played three seasons in the OHL with London and Peterborough and one season with Truro of the Maritime Junior Hockey League.

Coach Belliveau said Iorianni will make Lakehead very solid in the goaltender position. We are very happy to add Matt to our goaltending tandem. He has done very well in both the OHL and the Maritime Junior Hockey League and I know he will show great skill and passion in goal. Matt will give us a great one-two punch along with Chris Whitley.

Iorianni said it will be exciting to play hockey in his hometown. I am really looking forward to getting my education and playing for Lakehead. I hope I can help the team continue the success they've already built.

Iorianni will be enrolling in General Arts at Lakehead this September.
