This week's Lakehead Thunderwolves RBC Athletes of the Week are Brock McPherson of mens hockey and Georgia Harvey of womens basketball.

Brock McPherson: Mens Hockey: Junior: Brampton, Ont.
The big junior forward continues his hot had offensively for the CIS No. 8 Wolves as he scored a goal and added two assists in Fridays 6-4 win over Guelph and then added three helpers in Saturdays 6-3 victory; adding up to a six point weekend.

McPherson played excellent and hard hitting hockey for the Wolves; controlling play along the boards in the Gryphons end and delivering some very hard hits. He also was a master on the faceoff circle.

Lakehead Head Coach said McPhersons play has helped raise the play of his teammates. I think Brock had an outstanding weekend and I think his ability to read the ice has really helped guys like Speer and Brown get on the scoresheet regularly and Brock has also been the key on our powerplay and he has been the catalyst on the success of that unit.

McPherson has picked up 10 points in his last four games and leads the Wolves in scoring with 12 goals and 10 assists; 5th in OUA scoring and tied for 9th among CIS points leaders.

Georgia Harvey: Womens Basketball: Junior: Winnipeg, Manitoba

The junior guard from Winnipeg has been playing better and better basketball of late but she put together the best game of her Lakehead career at just the right time; in Lakeheads crucial Friday night win over the then OUA East leading Laurentian Voyageurs.

Harvey came off the bench to record a huge double-double of 15 points and 11 boards when Lakeheads starters shooting had gone cold. Harveys play helped inspire her squad (7-3 OUA/12-4 overall) to a crucial win that keeps the Wolves in the hunt in the very competitive OUA West Division.
