Hamilton, Ont: The UQTR Patriotes showcased their potential to dominate this week with two huge wins. The Patriotes beat the Queens Golden Gaels 10-4 Friday, led by Jerome Bergeron and Eric Beaudin, who each had two goals and an assist. Brady Olsen had a hat-trick for Queens, while Jamie Brock picked up three assists. On Saturday, UQTR got four goals from first-year left winger Mathieu Gravel as they defeated the RMC Paladins 8-1 at home. The Patriotes put the game away early scoring four times in the first period, including two from Gravel. Danny Dallaire made 40 saves for the win in the UQTR net.

The Waterloo Warriors came away with four points in the standings this week after tallying two one-goal victories. Waterloo defeated the York Lions 4-3 Thursday ay the Ice Gardens, thanks a to a third-period power-play winner from Doug Spooner at 1:03. Spooner also added an assist, while goaltender Curtis Darling made 31 saves for the Warriors. Darryl Thomson had two goals for York. Waterloo then went to Brock and scored twice in the third-period to defeat the strong Badgers 3-2.

Kevin Hurley had a goal and an assist for the Warriors, while Shane Hart buried the winner on the power play 18:54 of the third. The Badgers also lost 2-1 to the Western Mustangs Wednesday, with Kevin Richardson picking up both goals for Western. The Mustangs needed two goals in the third period to earn a point in a 3-3 draw with the York Lions Saturday. Trailing 2-1 after 40 minutes, Matt Manias and Sal Peralta scored 2:02 apart to bring the Mustangs back. Jon Hedberg and Nicholas Dzieduszycki had a goal and an assist each for the Lions.

The Ottawa Gee-Gees and McGill Redmen were both perfect on the week. Ottawa beat the Ryerson Rams 6-4 Friday and then beat the Toronto Varsity Blues 3-2 in Varsity arena Saturday. Ottawa scored all three goals in the first period, two coming from Ben McLeod. McGill showed some offensive firepower, beating the Blues 6-3 Friday as Shawn Shewchuk racked up two goals and two assists. The Redmen then blanked Ryerson 7-0 Saturday at George Bell Arena in Toronto. Shewchuk and Doug Orr both had a goal and two assists, while Benoit Martin scored twice. Jean-Michel Filiatrault need to make just 10 saves for the shut-out.

In other action, RMC beat the Concordia Stingers 4-3 Friday. The Windsor Lancers and Guelph Gryphons tied 2-2 Saturday but the Gryphons beat the Lancers 3-0 in Sundays only OUA game. Queens defeated Concordia 4-3 Saturday.
