Lakehead Varsity Hockey Corporation and Lakehead University announce that Pete Belliveau is leaving his post as coach of the Thunderwolves Hockey team effective February 9, 2007. Pete has served as coach of the Lakehead Thunderwolves Hockey team since 2001, and helped lead the Thunderwolves to win the Queens Cup in 2006. Pete, who is on secondment from the New Brunswick Board of Education, plans to take some well-deserved time off but hopes to continue coaching given the right opportunity. Lakehead University and Thunderwolves Hockey wish to thank Pete for his many contributions to furthering varsity hockey in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario. Tom Warden, Director of Athletics of Lakehead University, will be acting as head coach until a new coach is recruited. We wish Pete well in his future endeavours.
