Defenseman Dene Poulin will not be returning to the Lakehead Thunderwolves Mens Hockey team this season. Poulin, from Kaminstiquia, Ontario, is planning to transfer to Confederation College in Thunder Bay to pursue an apprenticeship. Poulin would have been entering his sophomore season with the Thunderwolves and enjoyed a very strong second half to his freshman season last year.
Poulin said he thinks college is the better choice for him. I felt that the university didnt offer what I wanted academically right now. I wish all the Lakehead guys the best of luck this season and Ill be at all their games so they better play hard.
Lakehead Coach Pete Belliveau said Poulin will be missed. Dene is a good player who made strong contributions to our program and we were looking forward to having him in the line-up this year but he has decided to make a change academically and school is most important. We wish him all the best in the future.
