Richards Signs German Pro Contract

Recently graduated Thunderwolves hockey captain Jeff Richards signed a professional contract on Friday with the Tower Stars Ravensburg of the German Bundesliga.

Richards, who graduated Lakehead with a BA and and Education Degree, holds countless Lakehead scoring records. He said he is looking forward to playing pro hockey in a new country and learning about life in a new country. "This is going to be a great opportunity to become a better player and further my hockey career. I
look forward to the challenges of pro hockey, the change in culture, and overcoming thelanguage barriers."

Some of his accomplishments include OUA MVP, Four-time OUA All Star, two-time CIS All-Canadian, CIS and OUA All Rookie, CIS National Championships All Tournament Team selection, and member of the OUA Selects Team and CIS Team Canada for the 2005 Winter Universiade.
