The No. 4 Saint Marys Huskies defeated the No. 1 UNB Varsity Reds 5-1 Wednesday night in Fredericton, New Brunswick and the win gives the Huskies their 13th AUS title; two more than UNB.

Both teams have already qualified for the Cavendish University Cup being hosted by Lakehead March 26-29. The AUS title will give the Huskies one of the top 3 seeds in the University Cup while UNB will become the wildcard team in the to be determined pools.

Lakehead, Saint Marys, UNB, Western, and McGill are now waiting for the final University Cup opponent; either No. 2 Alberta or No. 8 Saskatchewan. These two teams will battle for the Canada West Championship and the last University Cup berth this weekend in Edmonton. That series is a best-of-three that will run Friday to Sunday at the Clare Drake Arena in Edmonton.
