In what is a first for Lakehead Athletics, this week's CIS and OUA male and female Athletes of the Week were both Thunderwolves. Thunderwolves Captain Joel Scherban won for his great play against the No. 2 Western Mustangs. This was the second week in a row that Lakehead hockey had won the OUA honours as Jeff Richards had been named last week. Lakehead women's basketball starRobyn Degray was named for her enormous effort against the Guelph Gryphons over the weekend.

Lakehead Athletic Director Tom Warden said the two are worthy winners. "Both Joel and Robyn represent what is best about Lakehead student-athletes and it is great to see them get some recognition on the national stage."
