Lakehead Thunderwolves forward Sean Stefanski has decided to leave the team and pursue a professional career with the Florida Everblades of the East Coast Hockey League. The Everblades are located in Fort Myers, Florida and are affiliated with Florida and Carolina of the NHL. Stefanski would have been in his sophomore season with the Wolves this year. He had a very strong freshman season last year and notched 8 goals and 13 assists while recording 144 minutes in penalties.

Lakehead Head Coach Pete Belliveau said Stefanski will be missed. We want to wish Sean all the best in his pro career with Florida and thank him for his service to the team.

Stefanski said playing pro seems the right choice for him now. Ive come to the conclusion that university isnt for everybody. Right now, at this point in my life, I want to be playing hockey every day and Florida made me a good offer so I took it. I hope to chip away at my degree while Im playing as well. I wish the boys on the Thunderwolves all the best; they have a strong team and should go far.
