The Blues have a 11-5 OUA mark (12-8 overall); good for first place in the OUA Mid East Division and third overall in the OUA. The Blues are tied for 9th in CIS goals for at 3.76 per game and tied for 3rd in goals allowed at 2.6 per game.

Head Coach Darren Lowe said his team is happy to return to the Gardens for the Varsity Cup. The Varsity Blues are very pleased and excited to be invited back to the Varsity Cup. The Thunderwolves, Lakehead University and the City of Thunder Bay have always been great hosts and we look forward to participating in a very competitive tournament. The Blues are in the second year of a rebuilding process and since Christmas of last year we have made great strides. We are still a young team with only one fifth year player and we hope to continue to improve as we progress through the 2006-2007 season.

Head to Head:

Toronto has only played Laurier so far this season (4-2 win). Lifetime; the Blues are 1-5-2 against the Thunderwolves; and (since 1976-77), are 15-14-10 vs. Laurier in the regular season, 4-3-0 in OUAA/OUA playoffs, and 19-17-10 overall. Since 1975-76; the Blues are 1-2 against Calgary with their last game being at the 2002 Lakehead Varsity Cup.

The Blues have very balanced team scoring and are led by sniper Joe Rand who has 10 goals and 6 assists. Anthony Pallotta is the other danger man with 6 goals and 11 assists along with Scott Malcolm (6 goals, 10 assists).

Other Blues to watch are Alex Nagribianko (7 goals, 6 assists), Mark Heatley (4 goals, 9 assists), Simon Barg (7 goals, 7 assists), Chris Gray (6 goals, 6 assists), and Julian Sarraino (4 goals, 6 assists).

The Blues play strong defensive game and are anchored by goaltender Ryan Grinnell (11-5, GAA 2.24, SV% .920), who is one of the top netminders in the OUA and has played in every game for Toronto in the first half. He also leads the OUA in wins. Neil Clelland is the backup but has seen little OUA action.
