The York Lions defeated the Toronto Varsity Blues 4-0 in the early game at the TBayTel Varsity Cup. York will play the host Thunderwolves Saturday night in a must-win game for the Lions, and most likely for Lakehead as well. Toronto will play the No. 9 Manitoba Bisons in the early game on Saturday.
Yorks scoring came from Jerry Clarke, Chris Jones, Matt Restoule, and Doug Henderson. The Blues outshot the Lions 38-34 in the game. Toronto was 0-7 with the man advantage while York was 0-4 on the powerplay.
