Three Wolves Earn Academic All Canadian Status

Thunderwolves Hockey is proud to announce that Hugo Lehoux, Kris Callaway, and Jounni Kuokkanen earned RBC Academic All Canadian status for 2004-05. Lehoux is a fourth year Business major, Callaway a third year Business major, and Kuokkanen graduated with a degree in History.

This season there are 31 Thunderwolves student-athletes (16 women and 15 men) who have qualified for the prestigious award. Winners must play a varsity sport and maintain an 80% average in their studies to be named an Academic All Canadian.

Lakehead Athletic Director Tom Warden said the large number of RBC CIS Academic All Canadians is reflective of Lakeheads focus on academics as well as athletics. I would like to congratulate this years RBC Academic All Canadians. This year the large number of honourees shows our student-athletes intense commitment to their studies and to their varsity sports.

Womens basketball led the way with six, womens Nordic skiing and mens track and field had five award winners apiece; womens volleyball and mens hockey had three each; mens Nordic skiing, mens basketball, and mens wrestling each had two, while mens cross country, womens cross country, and womens wrestling each had one athlete garner honours.
