The Lakehead Thunderwolves continue to strengthen an already talented roster, adding two
dynamic forwards who bring speed, offensive production and championship experience to Thunder Bay.
Head Coach Andrew Wilkins has been busy throughout the offseason, and he's not done yet.
The newest additions, Jayden Wiens and Quincy Supprien, round out the Thunderwolves
forward group with a combination of pedigree, production and speed.
Proven U SPORTS Production Arrives in Thunder Bay
The Thunderwolves have added immediate experience with the commitment of U SPORTS
transfer Jayden Wiens, who joins Lakehead after two impressive seasons with the Mount Royal Cougars.
The Carrot River, Saskatchewan native will also reunite with fellow hometown product and OUA
all rookie team forward Caden Drury.
Entering his third year of U SPORTS eligibility, Wiens has established himself as one of the
more productive young forwards in the country. Last season, he recorded 27 points in 27 games,
producing at a point-per-game pace while showcasing his ability to generate offense consistently.
As a freshman, he registered 23 points in 26 games,
giving him 50 points through his first 53 U SPORTS contests.
Prior to his university career, Wiens spent 3 seasons in the Western Hockey League with the
Saskatoon Blades.
Brandon Wheat Kings, serving as an assistant captain during his final
campaign. He capped off his WHL career with 25 goals and 44 points in 67 games, proving
he could both score and lead at one of Canada's highest levels of junior hockey.
Jayden has produced at every level he's played said Head Coach Andrew Wilkins. "He brings
experience, leadership and offensive instincts that will make our group deeper and more difficult
to defend One of the BCHL's Most Dynamic Skaters"
The Thunderwolves also continue their successful pipeline from the Sherwood Park Crusaders,
adding explosive forward Quincy Supprien. Supprien becomes the third recent Crusaders alumnus to join the program, following Dalton
MacGillivray and Marko Stojkov.
Known throughout junior hockey for his elite skating ability, Supprien arrives in Thunder Bay
with a reputation as one of the fastest and most dynamic skaters to come out of the BCHL.
His former coach, Lakehead alumnus Brennan Menard, describes Supprien as a Unicorn
Forechecker a testament to his rare combination of speed, relentless pursuit and ability to
disrupt opposing defenses.
Wilkins believes Supprien's style of play will quickly become part of the Thunderwolves identity.
Quincy is the type of player every coach wants. His skating allows him to pressure pucks,
create turnovers and change momentum with his work ethic. We believe he'll become an
identity player for our hockey team.
Before finishing his junior career with Sherwood Park last season, Supprien captured an MJHL
championship during the 2024-25 season while emerging as one of the leagues top offensive
threats. He recorded 56 points in 51 games, driving offense while playing an important role on
a championship-calibre club.
The Thunderwolves coaching staff continues to actively recruit as they look to put the finishing
touches on a roster built to compete for an OUA championship and beyond.
