The Thunderwolves completed the weekend sweep of the Brock Badgers with an exciting 5-3 win.

Lakehead's netminder Max Wright starting his second game of the weekend showed that he was up for the task coming up huge on multiple occasions throughout the game and stopping 36 of 39 shots he faced.

Lakehead would open up the scoring when Colin Van Den Hurk would pinch in from the point and snap home a nifty pass from Kevin Stiles catching Badgers goalie Aiden Hughes out of position.

Brock would answer back seven minutes later when Christian Cote would bury a Cole Tymkin pass passed Wright from the slot to tie up the game at one.

With four seconds remaining in the first period Brock took a penalty to put Lakehead on the powerplay which Lakehead would quickly convert on after Joe Mack won the offensive zone faceoff and Kevin Stiles would swipe it past Hughes with two tenths of a second left on the clock to give the Wolves the 2-1 lead heading into the break.

Brock would open the scoring in the second frame when a Johnny Schaefer point shot beat a screened Wright to tie the game up at two.

Lakehead would take the lead when Stephen Fox beats Hughes top shelf from the right circle to put the Wolves back out front.

The Wolves would go up by two on a weird play when Brock was in possession of the puck on a delayed penalty call on the Wolves and Brock's Jacob Roach would make a no look pass back into his own zone from his own blueline and ended up scoring in his own net with Hughes on the bench for the extra attacker. Jayden Wojciechowski would be credited with his first of the season and first as a Thunderwolf.

Brock would get one back shorthanded when Jacob Roach would beat Wright to round out the scoring in the second period.

Griffen Fox would beat Hughes on a 2 on 1 shorthanded breakaway bury an Auger pass top shelf to put the game out of reach 5-3.

Lakehead will have an off weekend next weekend before heading out on the final road trip of the regular season taking on Toronto Thursday, March 3rd and Ryerson Friday, March 4th and Saturday, March 5th.
