Lower prices, and more flexible purchasing options. This is what CIS hockey fans can expect when purchasing their tickets for the 2010 Cavendish University Cup presented by TbayTel, March 25-28 at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
At a Tuesday media conference at the Thunderwolves Hockey head office, the team announced that tickets will be sold in 7-game tournament passes, with one day passes, and championship final tickets sold closer to the tournament if seats are available.
In addition to the more flexible purchasing options, sales prices are more affordable than at the 2009 edition of the tournament. Tickets will also be sold to students and children at a reduced rate.
Lakehead University athletic director Tom Warden commented on the new ticket prices.
Lakehead Athletics and Thunderwolves Hockey are excited to be hosting the Cavendish University Cup for a second year straight year, and are happy to give CIS hockey fans more affordable options for purchasing tickets. We can expect some great hockey at the championships in 2010, and invite all CIS hockey fans nationwide to come out and experience the amazing atmosphere at the Fort Williams Gardens.
Off the ice, the championship atmosphere will extend into the Fort William Curling club where the Wolf Den will offer fans beverages and entertainment options. For a second straight year, the Hockey Hall of Fame will run an exhibit and games area for hockey fanatics of all ages.
Thunderwolves Hockey president Rory Cava added that the University Cup should have a distinct family feel.

As well as lowering the price of the Full Tournament Pass, we have added a Day Pass and a Childrens Pass. It is important to give all of our fans the flexibility that they need and to highlight the family atmosphere that has come to be expected at a Thunderwolves game.
