The Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey team released the 2015-16 schedule today, and will open the season at home versus the Manitoba Bisons of the Canada West Conference on September 25-26.

The Laurentian Voyageurs will visit Thunder Bay on October 2-3 as part of the Lakehead University 50th anniversary celebrations and homecoming weekend. The Thunderwolves Queens Cup champion team of 2005-06 will be honored during pre-game ceremonies on Friday night and before a special Saturday afternoon game starting at 2:00 p.m. That squad will be inducted into the Lakehead University Athletics Wall of Fame that evening.

All other home games will start at 7:00 p.m. this season, a half-hour earlier than in years past.

Lakehead will also host the defending Queens Cup champion Guelph Gryphons in the Crime Stoppers Christmas Challenge to round out its non-conference slate.

OUA conference opponents visiting the Fort William Gardens this season include the Queens Gaels, Nipissing Lakers and Toronto Varsity Blues during the fall term, followed by the Carleton Ravens, Ryerson Rams, Waterloo Warriors and Laurier Golden Hawks after the Christmas exam break.

The complete schedule of home and away games can be viewed on the teams official website, thunderwolveshockey.com.

Season tickets will go on sale at the Gardens box office in mid-August.
