The Lakehead Thunderwolves Summer Hockey Schools have been a great success so far. The inaugural camp in Fort Frances saw 156 players take part while the camps in Thunder Bay are now in full swing.

Most of the Thunder Bay camps spots are sold out with a few spots still remaining and Thunderwolves Hockey Operations Manager John Payetta said he expects about 600 players to take part in the Thunder Bay Camps which run until the end of this month.

New Lakehead Head Coach Don McKee is leading the large corps of instructors which includes Lakehead assistant coaches Darrin Nicholas and Bob Bodak as well as Lakehad players Dan Speer, Matt Maissoneuve, Kyle Moir, Devin Welsh, Dan Rogers, Kris Hogg, Andrew Brown, Brock McPherson, Jordan Smith, Chris Whitley, and Brad Priestlay.

Guest Instructors include Anna Blando, Natalie Vibert, Paul Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Duncan Pike, and Adam Blando.

McKee said the camps in both Fort Frances and Thunder Bay have gone very well. Fort Frances was an outstanding week of hockey development which addressed the needs of both house league and high performance level players. We developed a lot of positive energy there and are really looking forward to expanding the camps in Fort Frances next year. The Thunder Bay camps are going great and we have built an excellent curriculum for the players attending this year. The fact that many of our instructors are Lakehead players also raises the level of excitement for the attendees. All of our Thunder Bay camps have been very well received by both the players and their parents and I expect the rest of the camps through this month will be a resounding success.

This years camps are being taught to atom, pee wee, novice, bantam, and midget aged players for both boys and girls with a variety of skills being instructed for each level and for each position.
