The Lakehead Thunderwolves will look to get back into the win column when they host the Brock Badgers at the Fort William Gardens this weekend. The opening face-off is set for 7:30 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday nights.

Last Time Out

Lakehead is coming off a tough weekend in the nations capital, but the Wolves did pick up a point in a 3-2 overtime loss to Carleton on Friday night. In the Saturday rematch, Lakehead fell 6-1 to the Ravens.

Brock played only one game last weekend, an 8-1 road loss to McGill in Montreal on Friday night.

Series History

Lakehead holds the advantage in the all-time series versus Brock with a record of 24-8-2 versus the Badgers. But Brock came out on top when the Wolves travelled to St. Catharines twice on split trips last winter. In January, Brock nipped Lakehead 4-3 in overtime and then completed the season sweep when it downed the Wolves 6-3 the following month.

Dynamic Duo

Lakehead has two players ranked in the top ten in the OUA scoring race. Senior Mike Hammond sits in second place, while junior Kelin Ainsworth is ninth.

About the Badgers

The Badgers are a young team led by an experienced Head Coach in Murray Nystrom, a native of Thunder Bay now in his 17th season behind the Brock bench.

With ten freshmen on the roster, Brock has suffered from some growing pains early this season and the Badgers will enter the series with an OUA record of 2-4-1.

Brocks top scoring threats are Andrew Radjenovic and Sammy Banga, while Daniel Tanel, Anthony Geldart and Evan Morden anchor the defence. Goaltender Adrian Volpe is the mainstay in the Badgers net.
