The Lakehead Thunderwolves will square off with the Windsor Lancers at the Fort William Gardens this weekend in a rematch of last years OUA West Division finals. Game times are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night.

Last time out
Lakehead is coming off a successful road-trip where it picked up two wins over Toronto-based teams. The Wolves downed the Toronto Varsity Blues 7-5 on Friday night and then edged the Ryerson Rams 3-2 on Saturday afternoon to complete the weekend sweep.

Windsor remained home to collect a pair of victories by handling Laurier 5-2 last Friday before crushing Toronto 10-3 on Saturday.

Series history

Lakehead holds the advantage over Windsor in the all-time series with a record of 38-16-0 versus the Lancers, but it was Windsor that came out on top in their most recent meeting. The Lancers swept the Wolves in two straight games in the OUA West Division finals last March.

Injury Report

Senior forward Jake Carrick (groin) is likely to miss the Windsor series and sophomore forward Cody Alcock (hand) is not expected to return to the line-up until late November. Senior goaltender Jeff Bosch (concussion) is doubtful and listed as week to week.

About the Lancers

The defending Queens Cup champions will enter the weekend with a perfect 5-0 record in OUA play, sitting atop the West Division with 10 points.

The Windsor attack is led by senior forward Spencer Pommells, who is currently ranked second in OUA scoring. Drew Palmer and Matt Beaudoin are also offensive threats for the Lancers.

The defence is strong as well, with blue-liners Saverio Posa, Kenny Bradford and Scott Prier off to good starts this season.

Fifth-year senior netminder Parker Van Buskirk will return as the mainstay in the Windsor goal.
