Lakehead volunteer Sports Information Assistant Matt Prokopchuk will be hosting a new radio show on Lakehead Radio 102.7 FM in Thunder Bay (online around the world at www.luradio.ca) beginning Monday, Jan. 7th at 9:30 am EST, and running every Monday at that time during the Thunderwolves varsity season. The new 30-minute show will focus on Thunderwolves varsity sports and will be called Thunderwolves Sportsdesk.

The show is a weekly half-hour look at Lakehead Thunderwolves action from the previous week, as well as a preview of upcoming events. The show will also include interviews, soundclips, in-studio guests, and guest hosts whenever possible.

Lakehead Hockey Head Coach Don McKee will be the guest on Monday, Jan. 14th.

Prokopchuk, a Thunder Bay native, is a graduate of the Carleton University School of Journalism and covered Ravens sports while attending Carleton. This year he has been the colour commentator on Lakeheads radio broadcast and videowebcasts of all Thunderwolves mens basketball home games on Lakehead Radio and News-cast.com videowebcast network. He has also written game stories on both mens and womens basketball, done play by play for a videowebcast of the Wolves womens volleyball team, and filled in as emergency hockey stats officer.
