Players from the Thunderwolves lent their support to the 30th annual Kinsmen/Kinettes Cystic Fibrosis Telethon held at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium on Mother's Day. Some players were on hand at a local McDonalds signing autographs and helping to raise donations. Lakehead's Chris Shaffer represented the team at the broadcast and drew the winning ticket for a Thunderwolves Jersey that was donated to the Kinsmen/Kinettes Hooked on Fun Days donation drive. Hooked on Fun helped raise 564 dollars for the telethon, which raised over 108,000 dollars on the day as of the end of the broadcast.
