The Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey program is pleased to announce that it will be supporting the United Way of Thunder Bay at this years RBC Christmas Challenge. For every walk-up ticket sold for Lakeheads games versus the Carleton Ravens on December 29th and 30th, the Thunderwolves will donate $1 to the United Way.

For the second year in a row, RBC Royal Bank will be the title sponsor of this event. We are happy to be the title sponsor of the RBC Christmas Challenge once again, said Murray Walberg, RBC Regional Vice President for Northwestern Ontario. I am particularly pleased this year that we have partnered with United Way of Thunder Bay to help them in their annual fundraising campaign, which supports 27 critical agencies in our community."

Thunderwolves Hockey Executive Director Jason Mallon is delighted with the partnership with RBC and the United Way. Thunderwolves Hockey is proud to support the United Way at the RBC Christmas Challenge, Mallon said. We encourage everyone to come out over Christmas and cheer on the Thunderwolves, and we would also like to thank RBC Royal Bank for making this event possible.

United Way of Thunder Bay is grateful for the Thunderwolves support at the RBC Christmas Challenge, said United Way President Mike Thompson on behalf of his Board of Directors. United Way strives to create opportunities for a better life for everyone in our community, and the generosity and support of local people and organizations like RBC and the Thunderwolves help make this happen. Together were making change start here.

The RBC Christmas Challenge will feature two games per day, with one ticket good for both games. At 4:00 pm the Thunder Bay AAA Midget Kings will play the Winnipeg Thrashers, and the Thunderwolves will face off against the Carleton Ravens at 7:30 pm both nights.

Tickets for the RBC Christmas Challenge are on sale now at the Fort William Gardens box office.
