Thunderwolves Travel to York

The Lakehead Thunderwolves will voyage to Toronto, Ontario to challenge the York University Yeomen.  The Thunderwolves go into the weekend with an OUA record of 2-2-0 after sweeping the Waterloo Warriors last weekend in Waterloo.  

Thunderwolves fans in Thunder Bay can listen to the action live with TBT/CKPR Sports Director Bryan Wyatt calling the play-by-play on 580 CKPR AM.  Thunderwolves and Yeomen fans across Canada can listen to the game live via the Internet at www.ckpr.com   The two teams take to the ice Friday at 7:30 PM and Saturday at 2:00 PM at the  Beatrice Ice Gardens on the York University campus.

Series History: 
This will be the 3rd and 4rth meetings between the two teams.  Lakehead was 1-1-0 in the two previous games during the 2001-2002 season, outscoring York  11-7.

November 2nd, 2001: York 4 @ Wolves 3 (Loss)
November 3rd, 2001: York 3 @ Wolves 8 (Win)

Thunderwolves Notes:
- The Thunderwolvs are coming off of a sweep of Waterloo, winning 8-5, and 3-1.
- Grant McCune, has a record of 4 wins, 2.50 GAA and .886 save percentage.
- Thunderwolves leading scorers are Chris Shaffer with 3 goals and 3 assists, Matt Kenny with 1 goal and 5 assists,  Jason Lange with 3 goals and 2 assists, Bryan Duce with 2 goals and 3 assists, and Jeff Richards with 2 goals and 2 assists.

Lakehead Head Coach Pete Belliveau said the York series is a big test for his team.
"This should be excellent series!  We are playing one of the best teams in the OUA; they have it all, great goaltending, defense and forwards.  This will be the biggest challenge of our young season and we are looking forward to playing them in their olympic size arena"
 
York Yeomen Team Info:

The York Yeomen, a perennial OUA contender, have an OUA record of 2-1-1 this season, good for first place in the OUA Mid-West Division.   They are coming off a 4-4 OT tie with RMC last Saturday, and a 10-3 victory over Queen's last Friday.  York Head Coach Graham Wise says his team is prepared for a tough battle with the Thunderwolves. 
"The Yeomen know they are in tough with the Thunderwolves coming to York. We will have to be at the top of our game.".
