In front of 1173 fans the Lakehead Thunderwolves returned to play the Northland Lumberjacks (NCAA) at the Fort William Gardens after 614 days between games.

Fifteen seconds later the Wolves netted a shorthanded marker as Troy Williams buried a rebound past Curr into the yawning cage to put the Wolves up 3-0.

Northland would take advantage of some powerplay opportunities to pull within 1 as Jake Lamberty and Eddie Gallagher would get the puck by Wolves netminder Blake Weyrick to pull Northland within 1.

Northland's Eric Honold would score 44 seconds into the second period on Wolves goalie Brock Aiken who came in at the start of the period to tie the game 3-3.

The Wolves would take the lead for good when Tyler Ho would net his 2nd goal of the game flipping a Dexter Kuczek pass over the left pad of Northland goalie Chris Curr to make it 4-3.

The game was a rough one as Lakehead picked up 50 Min and Northland 24 Min.
