Coming into the last three games of the season Lakehead needed a solid game to start off the final road trip of the season. The Thunderwolves got the solid game but came out on the wrong side of the score losing 3-2 in a shootout and picking up one pt which leaves them needing max points in the final two games vs Ryerson and needing some help along the way as well to have a shot at making the playoffs .

In the opening frame of the game saw Lakehead get outshot 14-3 by Toronto but Max Wright stopped all 14 shots he faced to keep the game scoreless after one.

In the second period Toronto would open the scoring when Billy Moskal would rifle a drop pass from Ross Krieger past a partially screened Max Wright.

Lakehead would respond right away when Greg Smith would pick Toronto’s Brendan Bornstien’s pocket behind the net and tuck it in inside the post to knot the game up 1-1.

Toronto would retake the lead ten minutes later when Steven Elliot would take a cross ice pass from Jake Brien and beat a sliding Wright.

Midway through the third period Lakehead would tie the game up when Stephen Fox would bury a Joe Mack pass from behind the net.

In OT both teams would exchange multiple scoring opportunities with Lakehead’s best chance coming when defensemen Colin Van Den Hurk would ring a shot of the near post late in the OT period.

In the shoot out it would take five rounds to settle the game as Joe Mack would beat Alexander Bishop with Lakehead’s only goal. Danny Katic and Steven Elliot would score for Toronto and would make the final 3-2 in favor of the Varsity Blues
