Male: Tobias Whelan: Mens Hockey

The senior General Arts student from Orillia, Ontario played fantastic overall hockey this weekend as the Wolves defeated Laurier 3-2 and 7-5 in two very tough games at home in Thunder Bay this weekend.

The Wolves assistant captain not only had 3 goals and 3 assists (1 goal, 1 assist Friday; 2 goals, 2 assists Saturday) over the weekend to lead the Wolves offensively; but was also a standout defensively; backchecking relentlessly and playing very well on the PK unit. He also was very sharp on the face-offs against his very talented counterparts on the Hawks squad.

Female: Debra Sandberg: Womens Basketball

The senior Biology student from Kelowna, British Columbia had a fine weekend as she helped lead her team to a home split against the OUA West second place Western Mustangs.

Sandberg had 22 points in Fridays close win over the No. 11 ranked Mustangs; including 4-5 from 3-point range to go along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Saturday's hearthbreaking loss saw Sandberg notch 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
