Lakehead assistant captain Tobias Whelan is this years winner of the Molson Cup; presented annually to the Thunderwolves player who collects the most Molsons Three Stars points at home games as selected by members of the Thunder Bay media.
Whelan placed first with 31 points; ahead of Brock McPherson with 24 and Mark Soares with 20.
Whelan will be presented with the Molson Cup Trophy by Mr. Val Glymitsas of Molsons in a special pre-game ceremony before Lakeheads first home playoff game. Whelan, McPherson, and Soares will each receive prize packs from Molsons. All three players will have their names inscribed on the trophy.
