Lakehead University and the Thunderwolves hockey program are pleased to announce that 5th year senior forward Andrew Wilkins has been named the teams Captain for the 2013-14 season.

Wolves Head Coach Bill McDonald likes whatthe Pickering, ON nativehas shown him this fall. Since the start of training camp, Ive kept a close eye on who would be a good leader and the best man to wear the "C" on the front if his jersey, McDonald said. There have been a number of worthy candidates, but in the end the coaching staff is pleased to have selected Andrew to lead the pack. He has the respect of his teammates and is a leader both on and off the ice.

The three assistant captains are senior forward Trevor Gamache, senior defenceman Mike Quesnele, and junior defenceman Mitch Fillman.

Wilkins is ready to assume his new role. Its an honor to be named Captain, and Ill take great pride in leading by example day in and day out to help our team reach the goals weve set for this year,Andrew said. And I believe that Trevor Gamache, Mike Quesnele and Mitch Fillman are going to do a great job as assistants. This team has a dressing room full of leaders, and were all looking forward to the challenge ahead. Were really excited to get the season started this weekend.
