Wolves and Dougall Continue TV partnership in 05-06

Lakehead Thunderwolves Hockey is very happy to announce that it will continue its groundbreaking television partnership with Dougall Media of Thunder Bay for the 2005-06 mens hockey season. Thunder Bay Television-CTV will again carry two Thunderwolves games live this season; available locally in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario on TBT-CTV and across Canada on the Star Choice and Bell Express Vu satellite services.

Lakehead President Dr. Fred Gilbert said these broadcasts will showcase Lakehead. This a very special cooperative venture with Dougall Media and one that will allow Thunderwolves' fans and Lakehead alums across Canada to see our hockey team in action. This national exposure will help increase awareness about the university.

Dougall Media Chairman Fraser Dougall said his company is very pleased to continue this venture with Lakehead. All of us at Dougall Media are very proud and excited to be a part of the new Lakehead University Thunderwolves season. This partnership will continue to be very good for each of the parties as well as for Thunder Bay in general as we showcase our city and university to the rest of Canada."

Lakehead Athletics Director Tom Warden said this is great news for Lakehead. This continues our partnership with Dougall Media and is excellent exposure for the program, our university, and the City of Thunder Bay.

Rory Cava, President of Lakehead Thunderwolves Varsity Hockey, added, Dougall Media has given us another great opportunity to showcase our hockey team as well as our unique management model to our local fans as well as the rest of Canada.

The two games scheduled to be televised this year are the Saturday, October 15th match vs. Saskatchewan and the Saturday, January 14th game vs. Western. Thunder Bay Television-CTV is available locally in Thunder Bay on Channel 4/Cable 6, locally on Bell Express Vu on Channel 222, and nationally on the Star Choice Satellite Network on Channel 314.
